Malia Mendez (she/her)

is an arts and entertainment journalist. She graduated from Stanford University in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in journalism, and she currently works as an editorial assistant at the Los Angeles Times.

Malia got her start in journalism at The Stanford Daily, where she served as managing editor of the newspaper’s Arts & Life section and wrote about indie music, the evolution of the romantic comedy genre, and, her personal favorite, “Fearless (Taylor’s Version).” Her byline can be found in the Los Angeles Times, the Orange County Register, the Peninsula Press, and Los Angeles Magazine. She is from Irvine, CA.
